January 28, 2016

I just love to recycle an today's card is made completely from scraps an a free rose stamp that  was from a magazine I got a year ago.

I made several layers for both the card and the rose.  The rose was stamped an embossed on plain cardstock an water colored with distress markers being careful to not over saturate the paper with water.  An then trying something new for me I put sentiment on black cardstock embossed in white which I think added to card. I hope you all like this.

January First Blog

So excited to do my first blog and what better way then to start it with a card made from a digi stamp from "Imagine That Digi's by Kris"
This card was made for a Hummingbird challenge in a card group. I so enjoyed coloring the humming bird an fuchsia.

Materials used:
Digi stamp by Imagine That Digi's by Kris
Cardstock
Prisma color pencils
Blue distress ink pad
plain stamp block
water pen
Decorative Blossom Corners, By Heartfelt Creations
Printer

First thing you need to do is get a design an print it out. I used cardstock for my design normally you would want to use watercolor paper but since I used little water cardstock was fine. When it was printed out I trimmed it to size I wanted, nothing like coloring a whole design to trim it to size only to cut wrong an mess it up. I learned the hard way lol.
My next step I smooched the distress ink on a ink stamp block an watered it to make it not as intense. Going around outer edges leaving ink brighter an drawing out to be lighter an going around to help image stand out an not just hang in the air.
Color is very simple, I used prisma color pencils I love how creamy they are an how well they blend.  I'm by no means a expert but starting with light layers of color an pressing harder on following layers helps you to blend your colors even better. I do most of my blending with the different shades I used and the white color pencils plus there is a blending pencil.
When finished arrange on cardstock the way you choose.  I placed mine on pink cardstock with the Two Decorative Corners an added a ribbon.
I so loved this design by "Imagine That Digi's by Kris" an plan to do many more!
